Thank you for your inquiry in a solar system. We are offering a new program called the “Solar Participation Program.”
This program allows you to pick and choose, based on your skill level, what you want to do or what you would like us to do in referring the construction of your solar system. The only thing that is non-negotiable is that a C-2 contractor with grid-tie experience (generally $2,500-3,500) must be implemented.
We prepare a complete set of engineered plans for your building department, all structural calculations whether it be on the ground or the roof. We need the following information from you in order to ascertain how much solar you would need, which is determined from your power bill. Once we determine your needs, we will break down the costs; eliminating your entire power bill (except for hook-up fees, referred often as fixed fees on your power bill, and various other fees usually about $30.00), half your power bill, and 1/3 of your power bill.
Please let us know if the system is going on the roof and if you would want to participate in that part of the project which is not that complicated if following the plans. Or we can refer a roofer. Or perhaps if it will go on the ground, you can follow those plans and we can determine a price for you. If you would like us to do all of it, we can give you a price as well. The main things you need are the plans for your building department and a C-2 contractor to hook the system up to the grid, which we refer to you.
Also, where you think you want to have your solar system, if on the roof for example and you have a south/southwest exposure, we would need a picture of that and the square footage of the area available on the roof. We need a picture of your attic and truss configurations, and whether it was 2 by 4 or 2x6 wood used to construct the trusses. If you want it on the ground, we need the pictures of where you want it and the square footage available (Google Earth would be great). From the ground we need calculations of how far the solar array is going to be from your power meter on your home. We need a picture of the inside of your breaker box and a picture of your meter as well.
This program can save you thousands of dollars and put yourself in a hedge position against inevitable price increases. We have built over 200 solar systems and can provide consulting services as well.
